They can't be harvest for scraps like ruined clothing can, so they may despawn (Not 100% sure if they do- never left bear hides sitting around unused). If you weren't gone long, they should not have decayed away completely- they decay at just over 3%/day after being fully cured. Did you report them on the Support Portal? The bear hides you dropped were already well below 100% condition when you dropped them, they may have decayed away if you were gone very long (didn't watch the entire video- just jumped to the time stamps you posted).
So i guess yes if a item is lost you are not insane, it can happen :D maybe we are not alone :P And these sound like bugs. and at 1:15:20 when i came back the hides are gone :) The magic rabbit :D got me 2 rabbits at mystery lake and when i enter the trapper's homestead one was goneĪt 5:35 i drop 2 Bearhides move to ML and back.
